This Remembrance Day, fund the dog that gets a veteran through the next one
Remembering costs nothing. A certified service dog costs $20,000 to $30,000 and takes two years to train — and for a veteran living with a service-related injury, it is the difference between managing and not.
• 400+ service dogs placed with Canadian veterans and first responders
• Every dog is task-trained, tested and certified
• Monthly giving funds the two years training actually takes

The service ended. The injury didn't.
For a veteran living with post-traumatic stress, the hardest places are ordinary ones — a queue, a crowded aisle, a room with its back to the door. A trained dog interrupts a panic response before it peaks, holds a space in a crowd, and leads its handler out when the room stops being survivable.
• Deep pressure therapy on cue, to bring down a rising panic response
• Interrupting nightmares and flashbacks, day or night
• Creating physical space in public, so a supermarket becomes possible again
