Corporate Sponsorship in Canada — Fund a Dog, Change a Veteran's and First Responder's Life

Courageous Companions is a CAC-accredited registered charity that has placed more than 400 certified service dogs with Canadian military veterans and first responders over fifteen years. Corporate sponsorship in Canada is what makes that possible — and your company is named on every part of it.

Why a company backs this mission

A veteran who has come home injured does not need a mascot. They need a dog that has been task-trained for two years, tested for public access and certified against a national standard — and someone has to pay for that. One placement costs $20,000 to $30,000. That is the whole number, start to finish, and it is the number every conversation here begins with.

It is a capital-sized gift with a human-sized story

Community investment committees are asked to fund programs that are hard to photograph and harder to explain. This one has a name, a face and a certification date. Your team will know exactly what the money bought.

The proof already exists

General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada has funded a complete dog. Gasoline Alley Harley-Davidson has run rider fundraisers across a season. The Order's Foundation gave $70,000 at a single gala. These are not projections — they are companies that have already done it.

Almost nothing is absorbed on the way through

The organisation is run by volunteers, so the overwhelming majority of what a company gives goes straight into training, veterinary care, equipment and placement.

Name the dog

Naming is reserved for corporate Naming Sponsors. Your company chooses the dog's name from a list approved by our trainers. Every name on the list is short, clear and easy to call out in a busy public place, so it works as a command for the dog's whole working life. The name is set at intake and used from the first day of training.

Your logo on the dog's collar

Naming Sponsors have their company logo on the dog's collar, so your support goes to work with the team every day.

Put your company's name on a working dog

Naming sponsorships start at $25,000 and can be paid monthly over 24 months. One 15-minute call tells you whether it fits your plans.

Recognition on our website

Your logo, a link to your website and a line about your company appear on our Sponsors page for the working life of the team you funded.

Updates every three months

Every quarter you receive photos and a short update on your dog's training, written so you can share it in your newsletter, intranet or social channels.

How the conversation goes

No deck is sent before a conversation. We would rather understand what your committee has to approve, then put the right level in front of you.

1. A call

Fifteen minutes on what your company wants to support and what your approval cycle looks like.

2. A written proposal

The level, exactly what it funds, the recognition it carries and the timeline, in a form you can take to a committee.

3. The placement

Intake, training, certification — with updates as they happen, not a silence followed by a receipt.

Questions

What does it cost to sponsor a whole dog?

A Naming Sponsorship is $25,000, payable at once or monthly over 24 months. It covers one dog from intake to certification.

Is our gift tax-receiptable?

Courageous Companions is a registered Canadian charity, number 74127 1290 RR0001, and issues official receipts. Your finance team should confirm how a sponsorship with recognition benefits is treated in your situation.

Can we choose which veteran our dog goes to?

No. Matching is done on clinical and practical suitability by the placement team, and that independence is part of what the accreditation protects. You will know the team you funded once the match is made.

How long does a placement take?

A dog trains for roughly two years before certification, so a sponsorship funds a team that will be working for years rather than an event that ends in a quarter.

What do we get to publish?

The placement story, approved photographs and your recognition on the sponsor page. Everything published about a handler is cleared with that handler first.

We are a small business. Is there a level for us?

Yes. Event and employee campaign partnerships start well below a full placement, and several smaller companies funding stages of one dog is a normal arrangement here.
